Theme Overview

This nine-week course has students putting together desktop publishing and many other
skills they have learned this year and displaying them in one final portfolio.

Using Microsoft Word, the students in 2nd - 8th grades will be creating a newsletter on communication choices. They will be developing their desktop publishing skills.  The students will be able to be creative in designing their newsletter and other projects.

The Kindergarten and 1st grade students will be creating a book that brings together all the
topics learned this year. They will be using their skills to insert and format text information
as well as graphics.

The majority of the learning objectives for desktop publishing will be introduced  in this unit. We will also be reviewing many of the objectives learned throughout this year.
